Corona Jottings: Spare A Thought For The MC
Honorable PM, spare a thought now for the MC. This MC is not
your Master of Ceremonies who rules roost at the centrestage, its the
"Middle Class" which is at the receiving end of everything in
societies like ours.
The underprivileged are being addressed by the social
welfare oriented Government's schemes; the super rich aren't bothered - the
resources at their disposal will draw them to the end of their lives without
compromising on the style thereof. It is the MC, my dear PM who is being
affected most and yet their resilience is stunning. Salaries and earnings are
being delayed; small and medium business owners are having sleepless nights.
The future along with the prospective structural changes
make the life of the employee and freelancer uncertain. Markets are on the verge of pulling the plug on the neighborhood small entrepreneur;
FDs and Insurance schemes that have matured are pending
release. Your suggestion on not denying payments to our domestic help, drivers
uppermost on mind returns the most complex trade-off of our lives which our
math skills invariably fail on; regular reminders from your friendly donors
Sanjeev Goenka and the Mittals continue adding a bitter flavour to the scheme
of things, despite promises to the contrary.
Honorable Prime Minister, should we therefore pull down our
lifestyles halfway down? Are you sure with those kind of cuts from our end your
super rich donors would be able to meet your GDP goals..spare a thought for the
MC dear PM. Spare a thought for them for the larger nation.
